Work in Canada

Express Entry (FSW, CEC, FST)

Federal economic immigration via a points-based pool. Profiles with strong CRS scores receive Invitations to Apply for permanent residence.

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

Provinces like Ontario, BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan nominate workers in in-demand occupations — boosting CRS by 600 points.

LMIA work permits

Employer-driven temporary work permits when the employer has a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment.

Open work permits

Spousal open work permits, PGWP for graduates, IEC working holiday visas (limited countries) and Bridging Open Work Permits.

Study in Canada

Study permit

Required to study a program longer than 6 months at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI). Needs proof of acceptance, funds, and (often) PAL/TAL.

Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

Open work permit of up to 3 years for graduates of eligible Canadian programs — a major stepping stone to PR.

Student Direct Stream (SDS)

Faster study-permit processing for legal residents of select countries (Kenya is included since 2023) meeting language and GIC requirements.

Visit Canada

Visitor Visa (TRV)

Standard visa for tourism, family visits, business meetings. Single or multiple entry, valid up to 10 years (within passport validity).

Super Visa

10-year multiple-entry visa for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens/PRs, with longer stays per entry.

eTA

Electronic Travel Authorization for visa-exempt foreign nationals flying into Canada.

Family Sponsorship

Spouse / common-law partner

Canadian citizens and PRs can sponsor their spouse or partner for PR — inland or outland processing.

Dependent children

Sponsor your biological or adopted children under 22 (with limited exceptions).

Parents & grandparents (PGP)

Annual lottery-based program. The Super Visa is the practical alternative for many families.

Refugee & Humanitarian

Convention refugees & protected persons

Protection for those facing persecution based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion or social group.

Humanitarian & Compassionate (H&C)

Exceptional PR pathway based on establishment in Canada, best interests of children, and hardship factors.

Citizenship

Citizenship by grant

After 3 years (1,095 days) of physical presence as a PR in the last 5 years, plus language and knowledge requirements.

Dual citizenship

Canada allows dual citizenship. Confirm your home country's rules before applying.
